⚠️ The Side You Sleep On May Matter More Than You Think

Did you know that your sleeping position can affect nighttime heartburn and acid reflux?

For many people who experience reflux, sleeping on the left side may be more comfortable than sleeping on the right side. When you lie on your left side, the position of the stomach and esophagus can make it harder for stomach contents to move back upward.

On the other hand, lying on the right side may make reflux symptoms worse for some people.

🌙 A few simple things to try at night:

Try sleeping on your left side if nighttime heartburn is a problem.

Avoid lying down immediately after eating.

Consider finishing dinner at least 2–3 hours before bedtime.

Avoid large or very fatty meals late at night.

If reflux continues, elevating your upper body with a wedge pillow may help.

But remember: there is no single “perfect” sleeping position for everyone. If you sleep comfortably and don’t have reflux or another condition affected by positioning, you don’t necessarily need to change your sleeping position.
